Germany - Ricks Motorcycles / Baden-Baden H-D dealerRick’s Motorcycles in Baden-Baden is more than just a Harley-Davidson dealership - it’s a place where steel, sweat, and soul meet to make custom dreams come alive. Here’s a little “behind the scenes” style story of how Rick’s became a custom legend, and what it feels like to walk through its doors.
It all began over 30 years ago, when a passionate rider named Patrick Knörzer (also known as “Rick”) started tinkering with parts and fabricating his own custom components. Over time, that humble garage grew, and Rick’s Motorcycles in Baden-Baden evolved into one of Europe’s venerable Harley custom shops.
What sets Rick’s apart is that the shop doesn’t justassembleparts - they design, engineer, machine, and fabricate their own bits. Whether it’s widening rims, crafting fenders, milling pulleys, or bending custom frames, a tremendous depth of in-house capability lies behind what you see. By morphing from a boutique workshop to a full-fledged custom parts designer and Harley dealer, Rick’s managed to stay true to its roots while expanding its reach. Today, they’re capable of building everything from “mild custom” Harleys to full-blown choppers and show-winner machines.

Walking into Rick’s is like stepping into the intersection of artistry and engineering. You first pass through a showroom of gleaming stock Harleys and custom bikes - each one whispering its own story of transformation. Then you get a glimpse of the workshop, where bits of metal, tools, and raw components lie in organized chaos, waiting to be shaped.
The crew is a mix of die-hard motorheads, machinists, welders, and designers. You’ll hear the hum of CNC mills, the hiss of welding torches, and snatches of technical discussion about tolerances, fitment, and finishes.
They’re not just building bikes - they’re pushing ideas, experimenting, and refining. That mentality of continual iteration is what earned Rick’s its reputation: “maximum quality and unusual designs.”
